Emergency

Of MED-1’s thirteen emergency beds, six support full adult and pediatric ICU/CCU capabilities, six provide for general acute care emergencies, and one is reserved for dental or ear, nose and throat procedures.

Intensive/critical care (which can be expanded through additional, portable equipment) includes:

Cardiac Monitoring

Each fixed monitor has 3- and 12-lead EKG capability with continuous ST segment trend analysis; invasive and non-invasive blood pressure, venous and arterial monitoring; pulse oximetry and end-tidal CO2 quantitative and waveform analysis; gas analyzers (for the two operative beds); and connection to a central monitoring station. MED-1 also includes additional, portable monitor defibrillators for expanded critical care capacity.

Ventilators

Ventilators are selected on capability and ease of use. Patient weight is the only required input, which greatly expedites connection to the ventilator circuit. Settings and alarms are preset to weight, but can easily be adjusted.

IV Pumps

Like MED-1 ventilators, IV pumps are selected on capability and ease of use and are preprogrammed for weight, but can easily be adjusted. Staff needs only to select intravenous medications (hemostatic or thrombolytic agents, antibiotics, etc.), prime cartridges and initiate infusion. Drip/flow rates are automatically calculated, monitored and infused.
